Mate... You see the poll, right? ^^

Laidback Luke - Hypnotize (D.B.O.Y Booty Mix)
this track is only a mush up? or track is made by himself from the begenning to the end? :> if he made it alone he should win this competition :)
but I like also the Gianni Marino's idea for the break down the house, baltimore idea ;) track sounds a little bit "not-finished" but you you have my voice mate ;)

Cheers and thx Miksa for competition idea ;)

Is it a Remix contest or a mash-up contest?
Some of the tracks just got Laidback Luke acapella's pasted over an original track. Pasting acapella's over original tracks is not remixen, and does not belong in a Remix contest.

Laidback Luke - Rocking With The Best (DJ Joey Remix)is the best...

YEAH MENSJ!! IM WITH YOUUUU.. ;)

I agree with Shino about Gianni's remix, I really like his idea. Also like that he used "shake it down". Still needs a little bit of perfecting, but he's getting my vote anyway.

Cruel Dee said...

Yeah i agree with guy that said there are too many mashups and bootleges - no real remixes! :)

Ps Jako dobra ideja za ovaj ''Remix Competition''
Poz IZ Novog Sada :)

@ DJ Joey

Dont know what it is, but at times the vocal sounds off beat or like if it slows down your beat, if you fix that and take a little bit off the edges you'd have a killer track and you had gotten my vote. None the less, good job.

the bootlegs should be removed, i could see some ppl spent a lot of time on these

i respect some of the orginality i heard, but deafblind wit 80 votes? i think theyre up to somethin

DJ Sal said...

are you kidding me with little boys bootleg? LOL

Big&Tall get my vote...nicely done sounds professional, definitely gonna support this

Damn! It is realy hard to choose out of 6 track (Gianni Morino, Dub Frek, Big & Tall, Dj Joey, Babylon & Big Horn and D.B.O.Y Booty).
I am sure i will use theese tracks in my sets.
But i think, my pick is gonna be Dj Joey. But the other 5 is also well done!
And thanks guys to u makin this competition, so we could have these nice works.

Don't misunderstand Miksa. Vote is just a thing to see how people react on this tunes.

I think maybe Miksa should specify bootlegs or remixes, but this is all good.

We would like to reward with premium all people who posted their bootleg/remixes but unfortunately that's currently not possible so this is like a free promtion for some. ^^

tuff decision here...i agree that joeys mix got some mad potential but the final touch is missing...furthermore props to gianni marino-crazy track!! But also diggin the more techy remixes from DBOY and Babylon and big horn...ima have to make up my mind again, like i said its gonna be hard to pick out one of these...

vega687 said...

think the big & tall mix gets my vote ;)

Big and Tall said...

We always use Logic 8 Studio definitely one of the best sounds for production...love Ableton Lives effects tho..

Big and Tall said...

I dont understand why D.B.O.Y hasn't gotten voted for he was the only other remix i really liked

Anonymous said...

The only mixes that sound professionally made are D.B.O.Y and Big & Tall....a few others do have potential to be good though...but deafblind really, you would have to be deaf and blind to pick that mix as the best....dj joeys is ok but still i would never put it on my ipod....little boys is a joke how hard is it to lay a vocal over be...I think Big & Tall's mix should definitely win...its the only mix that would make people move in a club...and thats what house music should do...good job Big & Tall you got my vote

Sthealtz said...

Hey! Logic 8 Studio/Logic Pro... is that program only for Mac or PS aswell?
Is it an advanced program or simple, or is it like Fruity Loops?
Thanks guys!
Big and Tall, i really enjoyed your remix. Nice base!
Stealthz,

Logic 8 Studio is for Macs only...i guess you would say its advanced, definitely a lot harder than Fruity loops but once you learn Logic, it is definitely a very user friendly program. i taught myself as a beginner, so its definitely do-able for anyone starting to produce and i would recommend it to anyone

Deafblind said...

To Stealthz:

Logic Pro 8 & Logic Expressed 8 are both only for Mac!

first I started with the 200 $ version (Logic Expressed), which is nearly the same as the Pro 8 version (500$).
It only has fewer samples, plugins and for example Mainstage is missing.
Later a did an upgrade to the Logic Pro version.

If you are able to produce on Fruityloops you also can manage to work with Logic! Furthermore its really easy to navigate, because of the intelligent display!

Stealthz said...

Okay, thank you for explaining. Unfortunatelly i don't have MAC. However, could you recommened any programs for a beginner?

Since i've only mixed tracks together and produced mixes, I am looking for a new challenge of producing tracks.

I have a friend who have used Fruity Loops and it seams like a good program but i wan't to know what's out there and wich programs you could recommened since you both have made two good remixes and it seams so easy!

I would be glad if you could help me with some recommendations.
Sthealtz, =)

Big and Tall said...

if you're going to stick with PC i would say go with either Reason or Ableton Live. Reason is a very hard program so I would recommend Ableton over that. Ableton is definitely a good production program, that is what I started with because I also only had a PC at first. Fruity loops although a good program (LBL uses it) i dont think its better than ableton at all in terms of what it can do but it really depends on what type of plugins you use. it doesnt matter that you are a beginner tho, as long as you enjoy wat ur doing and stay persistent at it u can teach urself the programs easily enough, i did. it might be a bit annoying at first, but after a while it'll all start to make sense.

good luck dude, any questions feel free to email us at bigandtallhousemusic@gmail.com ...ill help u out if ur havin problems

Most of these remixes arent even remixes, but purely mashups. This is a remix contest, not an 8th grade dj contest. The only mix that is good enought o be played on radio as well as a club is the Big and Tall mix. Ive seen a few other mixes by them and there pretty good as well. Professional sound only comes with dedication. Nice mix guys u deserve to win

Sthealtz said...

Thanks Big & Tall!
What is different plug ins?
My friend who uses FL has said that there isnt so many differents "sounds" to choose between. How do you get new sounds? For instance a better base, or some more electronic synths?
Thanks for your e-mail, i'll deffinetly mail you if a problem shows up.

Hey Miska, I sent my remix in a day late (sorry about that i'd only just seen the comp that day) it's not on the post. Just curious to see if you got it or not.
It was labeled OutOfState Dj's Remix.
Here is a link if you didn't:

stealthz:

plugins are VSTis (Virtual Software Technology instruments)...they usually are virtual synthesizers or sampler packs (drums, etc)...basically all these programs have their own synthesizers and samplers that come with it but it is also possible to expand the sounds u can use by downloading free or buying plugins, i havent really explored this option too much, instead Im learning the synthesizers that came with logic in order to tweak the sound to get it how I want it to be. i would definitely say get ableton over FL because it will start you off with a lot more sounds and options for you to play around with before you want to go searching for plugins that you like

my vote goes to gianni s strange remix sounds more electro and this blog is also called electrostation

like the idea !!!
